Defender of Eidolon V1.2 Update!

Wow!
It's been really fun working with my softmoon teammate on Defender of Eidolon for the 1-bit Jam #5, and we're quite proud of the game we created in one short week. The feedback has generally been very positive, lots of great comments about the art-style and music, as well as the gameplay too. There was also a lot of insightful feedback about how to make the game better. Thank you to everyone who left a rating or comment, that really helped us improve the game!
Now that the judging period is over for the jam, we've taken that feedback onboard and worked hard on creating a better experience in the form of Defender of Eidolon V1.2!
This update includes but is not limited to:
- Adding a Reload Indicator to show when the basic projectile is reloading and when reloading has finished.
- This should hopefully make shooting the basic projectile feel a lot better.
- Increasing the size of the enemy hitbox.
- A number of people noticed that the hitbox felt slim on the enemies, which wasn't helped by the orthographic camera view.
- Expanding the hitbox to address this, players should now see their shots won't miss as much.
- Early waves have generally been made easier with fewer enemies spawning at a slower rate.
- The game was always intended to be hard, but the release was just a tad too spicy. We've toned it down a bit to help players avoid frustration.
- That being said, later waves are still just as tough, so good luck!
- 4 New Palettes have been added.
- The Palette Swap system was one of my favourite features of our game, so we added 4 new ones! (1 of them is very ugly, but I left it in anyway!)
- UI has been improved.
- Some players didn't quite get the spell/tarot system and how to use it, so we've made the UI a bit more eye-catching to help players figure it out!

- Fixed the "Try Again" button on the Game Over screen.
- Quitting the application wasn't a bug, but intended! There was a nasty issue to do with wave generation when the player went to do a second run, which has now been fixed!
- General Spell and Projectile Rebalancing
- A couple of impactful changes here:
- Fireball now kills enemies instantly on level 1, instead of requiring level 2. However, it now has an extra second of recharge time to compensate.
- Cold Snap's slowing effect is slightly increased.
- The basic projectile now fires very slightly faster.

We've had fun with this project but it is time to move onto something new, so stay tuned to find out what it is! There might be one or two updates in the future though, so look out for that. That being said, the 1bit aesthetic we created with the post-processing dithering is very nice... I might use it for a new game soon.
